Hyatt Hotels and Resort to Open Andaz on Sunset Strip
Hyatt Hotels and Resorts will open Andaz West Hollywood in January 2009. Andaz, Hyatts new brand, opened its first property in 2007 with Andaz Liverpool Street in London. The Andaz West Hollywood will be the first North American property for the new brand which was designed with simplicity and locale in mind.
The hotel offers spectacular views of the Hollywood Hills as well as the Sunset Strip and downtown Los Angeles. The 257 rooms will include sitting areas and some rooms offer a glass-enclosed sunroom overlooking Sunset Boulevard. Eco conscious design elements include a special coating on the sunroom windows, which reduce solar heat gain and bring in more natural light, as well as wood flooring that has been harvested under regional environmental guidelines using sustainable forestry practices.
Andaz offers an unconventional check-in experience for guests by the introduction of the Andaz Host. Your host greets you and welcomes you into the Andaz Lounge where they facilitate the complete check-in process while you relax in style.

Two Hyatt Hotels Open in Avondale, Arizona
Two Hyatt Hotels have now joined the ranks of the high end hospitality industry in Avondale, Arizona. The city will become the home to a Hyatt Place and to a Hyatt Summerfield Suites. However, just a few miles to the west of the proposed locations resides a Homewood Suites, owned by Hilton, and a Hilton Garden Inn. Claudia Whitehead, the economic development director for Avondale, believe that the addition of two Hyatt hotels certainly raises the bar because of the number of high caliber hotels that are coming into the city. The proposed locations are excellent because they will be visible from the freeway. As for the developing, Whitehead says that it looks rather upscale, so the city is very excited about the development projects that are coming into the area.
So far, it is known that the plans call for 225,347 square feet of retail space. The hotel will also consist of a restaurant, so the land is measuring around 16 ½ acres. The first of the two hotels will be the Hyatt Summerfield Suits. The plans state that it will be fourstores, Ushaped, and 90,939 square feet. There will be 123 guest suites and the pool will be outdoors. The facility is also going to contain around 900 square feet of conference areas.
The plans for Hyatt Place are calling for a six story building that consists of 132 guest rooms. It will be approximately 76,508 square feet and the pool will be inside. The conference facilities are going to be 1,100 square feet and the hotel will also consist of a 400 square foot restaurant. There are also plans for four restaurants separate from the hotel and four retail buildings that will come after the building of the hotels.
The construction of the Hyatt Summerfield Suites is schedule to begin before the end of this year and should take approximately a year to build. However, there is yet to be a date for the Hyatt Place hotel. As for the Hyatts being located close to Hilton Hotels, no one is concerned. When driving down a highway or through a town, it is not uncommon to see hotels built in twos.
