Hilton Hotels will be Opening First Resort in TurkeyToward the end of 2009, Turkey will see its first Hilton hotel in Dalaman, which denotes one of the most recent expansions of Hilton Hotels on International land. This 100million euro investment involved Hilton Hotels signing an agreement with Gocay Tourism. This agreement outlines a plan that involves the construction of the Hilton Dalaman Golf Resort and Spa. The location will be on Sarigerme Beach and will consist of a total of 384 rooms. Fiftytwo of those rooms will be suites. There will also be a 3,000squaremeter house club, an 18 hole golf course, a spa, its own beach, and its own quay.
Hilton Hotels is taking on the construction of 10 hotels within the United States for a total of 33 hotels throughout the world. As for the Gocay Group, they are known for taking on such projects as tunnels, dams, highways, bridges, and airports.
However, Hilton has built a number of hotels throughout Turkey within the past fifty years, but the Hilton Dalaman Golf Resort and Spa is something that is quite unique. Turkey has not seen a Hilton hotel quite like this on their soil before. That is because this is an actual resort as opposed to the standard hotel that Hilton is used to placing within Turkey.
The president of Hilton Hotels Europe, Wolfgang Neuman, has been recorded as saying that the investment is a very exciting one for the company. It marks a new step in the expansion of Hilton hotels and resorts around the world.
As for why Hilton Hotels chose Dalaman, it is because it is a significant tourist location in Turkey. The resort is especially going to be a hit because golf is very popular within the area. Despite this high tourism, the area does lack in the area of high quality lodging, which is what Hilton Hotels is aiming to change.
