Airtran Airways Launches New InternationalAirTran Airways, a subsidiary of Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV), announced today that the carrier is officially kicking off brand new international service from several markets including San Antonio, Austin, Orange County, Calif., and Chicago Midway, as well as new service between Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The new routes were announced last winter and service details are outlined below. Today*s departure out of San Antonio International Airport marks AirTran*s first international destination and flight from the airport. The international service also brings AirTran service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and John Wayne Airport in Orange County for the first time.
San Antonio New Service:
· Beginning May 24, AirTran will operate four weekly nonstop flights between San Antonio (SAT) and Cancun (CUN) with service Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Beginning Sept. 1, 2012, through the end of the current schedule*, the carrier will operate three weekly nonstop flights on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
· Also beginning May 24, AirTran will operate one daily nonstop flight between San Antonio and Mexico City (MEX).
Ft. Lauderdale New Service:
· Beginning May 24, AirTran will launch service between Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood (FLL) and San Juan, Puerto Rico, (SJU) with two daily nonstop flights.
Austin New Service:
· Beginning May 25, AirTran will launch inaugural service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) with four weekly nonstop flights between Austin and Cancun on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays through Aug. 31, 2012. Beginning Sept. 1, 2012, through the end of the schedule, the carrier will operate the service on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Orange County New Service:
· Beginning June 3, AirTran will operate one daily nonstop flight between John Wayne Airport in Orange County (SNA) and Mexico City and one daily nonstop flight between Orange County and Cabo San Lucas/San Jose del Cabo (SJD).
Midway New Service:
· Beginning June 3, AirTran will operate one daily nonstop flight between Chicago Midway (MDW) and Cancun.
*Current schedules are available for booking through Nov. 2, 2012.

Baltimore travelers now have new options to head south for the winter! AirTran Airways announced today that the carrier will add a new nonstop destination from Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) with Saturday and Sunday service to Aruba (AUA). For sale beginning today, AirTran*s new BWI-AUA service will begin on Dec. 17, 2011. The airline is celebrating the new route with a special fare of $159 one-way for travel between Dec. 17, 2011, and March 14, 2012. Customers must book this super low fare by Sept. 16, 2011.

Fare Rules
Fares are available on www.airtran.com and are available for purchase today through Sept. 16, 2011, 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time. Fares are available for travel between Dec. 17, 2011, and March 14, 2012.
Blackout dates are as follows:
To AUA: 12/24, 1/14, 1/15, 2/18, 2/19.
From AUA: 12/31, 1/1, 1/7, 1/21, 2/25, 2/26
Sale fares are valid for travel only on Saturdays and Sundays. All fares are one-way. Fares shown do not include Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 roundtrip. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 roundtrip is not included. Fares do not include segment taxes of $3.70 per segment. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Fares to/from Bermuda, Mexico, and the Caribbean do not include additional government taxes of up to $100. All fares are non-refundable and a $75 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase, plus any applicable increase in airfare. Seats are limited, subject to availability, and may not be available on all flights. Service on some itineraries may be provided by our partner SkyWest Airlines. ATLANTA, May 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- AirTran Airways, a wholly owned subsidiary of Southwest Airlines, Co. (NYSE: LUV), today began daily nonstop service between Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and L.F. Wade International Airport in St. George*s, Bermuda.
Passengers took part in a colorful celebration at the airport featuring traditional Gombey dancers and a steel drum band. A special performance by the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders also wowed the crowd as part of the **Touchdown Bermuda** themed event. In addition to welcoming passengers, the cheerleaders were heading to Bermuda for their annual swimsuit calendar photo shoot.
Bermuda is the latest destination in AirTran*s international route network, which includes: Aruba, Cancun, Mexico; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Nassau, Bahamas and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
